Being Perfect

Rev. Christine Riley

Today we greet Spring, a traditional time to celebrate renewal and life’s potential. Each Spring’s rejuvenation offers us lessons. Together we reflect on what a fresh perspective around aspirations of perfectionism might mean in our lives. What are the spiritual consequences of seeking perfectionism in ourselves, in our loved ones, in our faith community?

Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, Guide

Rev. Sue Ayer

We all need somebody to lean on -- from the early days of the church to the early days of our own lives. On this Mother’s Day/Pentecost Sunday, Rev. Sue Ayer reflects on the work of mothers in the world and the work of Spirit in our lives.

Child Dedication Sunday and Flower Communion

***Please remember to bring your flowers to contribute today***

Rev. Christine Riley, Sara Cloe, DRE, Carrie Krause, ARE

This morning we celebrate two Unitarian Universalist rites, Child Dedication and Flower Communion. Both are unique to our liberal faith tradition and will enrich our fellowship as we embrace their symbolism and share our promises. By taking part in these rituals, we deepen our spiritual lives and weave together the tapestry of our shared lives and ministry.

Memorial Day, Patriotism, and Unitarian Universalism

Rev. Christine Riley

Today we explore how Memorial Day can be a time annually for us to reflect on how our liberal faith and our patriotism can be mutually affirmed. By discerning how we can ethically proclaim our patriotism, and simultaneously engender congruence with our own conscience and our liberal faith, we move toward spiritual wholeness.
