Eighteen people, from children to teens and adults worked alongside Hillsboro Parks and Recreation staff to support the Orenco Woods Nature Park. They helped groom and maintain a long walking path starting at the main pavilion area and winding back and around the park (at least several hundred yards in length). The path is covered with small pea-gravel, which foot traffic had pushed to the outside. We used rakes to pull it back more to the center of the path and even it out. Also cleaned leaf debris from the path, and helped dig drainage “troughs” away from the path at points where water tended to pool.
Enjoy the slide show of these hard workers.
