Celebrating Flower Communion Sunday

We are a diverse congregation both in beliefs and in dress. We want you to feel comfortable when you visit for the first time.

What should I wear to church?

We are an informal group of people. Wear what feels comfortable to you. Our congregation wears everything from casual jeans and t-shirts to typical work day clothing. On special dates or for special events, congregants may elect to wear something signifying that day. For example, on Flower Communion Sunday, we might wear bright colors and flowered shirts. The children’s programs often involve crafts or hands-on activities, so casual, comfortable and washable is best.

Is there childcare / Sunday School during church?

There is childcare for nursery-aged children, up to two years old, during the worship service. All other children begin Sunday by attending the service with their families for the first fifteen to twenty minutes. They are then sent to their classrooms for the religious exploration curriculum appropriate to their age. See the links for ChildrenYoung Youth, and Senior Youth religious exploration activities.

Can my child stay with me during the service instead of attending Sunday School?

Your child is always welcome to stay with you during the worship service. However, we do encourage all children to get to know others in our community and to learn together about exploring their beliefs, their ethics, and their responsibilities. If your children would be more comfortable having you join them in their religious exploration class the first few Sundays, you are always welcome.
